This notice explains what information The AI Lab collects when you use this site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email hello@theailab.co.uk and we will help.
Who we are
The AI Lab provides practical AI training for teams, based in Scotland and delivered across the UK. Our address is 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN. We are the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy question, contact hello@theailab.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Enquiry form. When you send an enquiry we collect your name, work email, company and your message, so we can reply and arrange a call. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- AI Readiness Check. If you ask us to email your result, we collect your work email and the answers you gave, so we can send your result and a short next-steps guide. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. The full AI Readiness Check also collects your name and business so we can prepare your report.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics in a cookieless mode to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and which steps people take. It does not set cookies on your device and does not identify you personally.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The AI Readiness Check uses a small amount of temporary browser storage purely to show you your own result, and it is cleared when you close the tab. Our analytics runs without cookies. Because of this, the site does not need a cookie consent banner.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and contact you. They process data on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website and our systems.
- Azure Communication Services sends the emails described above.
- Google Analytics provides aggregate, cookieless usage measurement.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and AI Readiness Check information for as long as we need it to respond to you and for a reasonable follow-up period, then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or withdraw consent for marketing. To exercise any of these, email hello@theailab.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date above.
